Portia Simpson Miller displays real leadership in NHT decision

Portia Simpson Miller guards her integrity jealously and will do every and anything to ensure that her name is never caught up in any unsavoury affair.

So when faced with the Outameni controversy and with the full knowledge that she was the responsible  minister and therefore unable to turn to anyone to wiggle her way out of making a decision that could comrades out of a job, she turned to her cabinet.

This is not the sign of an inclusive leader as she would like for us to believe, but more so a cowardly act and one of desperation, to arrive at a position, where she cannot be held accountable by the public. The PNP cabinet members even if they wanted nothing to do with this sordid affair, where all dragged into it by the Prime Minister and the outcome would now be a cabinet position, effectively contaminating  all who were in attendance, with no dissenting voices .

The cowardly actions of the Prime Minister and her cabinet (given they are now involved) has suggested to us the Portia Simpson Miller despite all her “talk” about accountability, transparency and good governance is nothing but hot air and a serial election campaigner and nothing else.

Portia Simpson Miller cannot now use the following words in any speech to the country

1. Accountability
2. Transparency
3. Responsibility
4. Good governance
5. Fiduciary responsibility

The Azan matter, the Sean Barnswell matter and this latest NHT affair have shown the true character of the Prime Minister and the PNP and nothing she does from here forward can change the public perception of the PNP as a party that does not care about anything but being in power and serving the needs of fellow comrades.

Every time the Prime Minister has been given a chance to demonstrate the kind of leadership we hope for , she has dashed out hopes and provides proof that years in politics does not necessarily means experience, since obliviously the Prime Minister has not learned much over the last 40 yrs about what effect leadership and good governance means.

On every occasions she has gone back to what she knows and has practiced over the last 40 years, which is to protect fellow comrades even at the expense of the country.

Great leadership on the part of the Prime Minister and now her cabinet and guess what we shall not forget, what you did when you all had a choice to make, we will all make our own choice when the time comes for such a decision to be made.

To the incoming NHT board members, your position have all been compromised before you have even begun, which would not be a position that I would like to have found myself.
