The NHT board has met and told a press briefing that none of the existing members will resign from the board as they did nothing wrong.
Now this meeting comes ahead of an announcement by the Prime Minister said to be about the faith of the existing NHT board. By virtue of Easton Douglas and other board members pronouncement, the Prime Minister has been placed in a very awkward position.
The NHT board obviously does not respect the Prime Minister, because had they have the slightest regard for her, they would have allowed her to make her announcements before hosting this press conference and telling her and the public they will NOT resign.
Never have I seen such disrespect of the leader of Jamaica as this board has done and it now appears to be clear that Portia Simpson Miller is not in charge and the board reports to itself and therefore does as it pleases.
The board really have some balls telling the Prime Minister that they will not resign and leaves the PM out in the cold as anything she does from here forward will define her as a leader.
If Portia Simpson Miller keeps the existing board then it confirms she is a lackey and is not worthy of leading Jamaica and should therefore resign as it is clear that she has no authority over who reports to her.
If she however fires the remaining members of the board, it will send a very strong message, that she is indeed and charge and people will not be allowed to do as they feel without consequences.
So, which Portia, will Jamaica see today ?
