The folly of the death penalty proponents !

I am prepared to go on recorded and say that bring back the death penalty will have zero impact on the current of future crime rate and would venture to suggest its not even necessary.

I am not a bleeding heart at all and neither do I believe that those who kill should not also have their lives taken away, no that is not where I am headed.

The Jamaica Police Force has been “killing” know wanted men, murders, murder suspects, area leaders, gang leaders, aspiring area leaders for a long time now, have’nt they?

Have we seen a commensurate reduction in murders as a result of the cops killing these guys in various communities across Jamaica, the answer is a resounding no.

So if the cops engage these guys in shootout and kill them on a regular basis, why would anyone who knows he could be next,w ant to become the next gang leader, the next don, the next shotta, knowing what is likely before him.

We already have the death penalty in place ie catch a gunman off guard, send for the undertaker, yet despite this, crime and murder continues to explode.

Hanging them, will have absolutely no impact on murder in Jamaica

The focus should be improving our capability to catch them and convict and no so much on the end of the process, let’s start at the beginning
