NHT Board member Sgt Raymond Wilson JCF vs the Government

When Sgt Raymond Wilson was named to the board of the NHT, many were a bit surprised by this move by the Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller.

Sgt Raymond Wilson now finds himself in a very tricky position, having been handpicked by the Prime Minister a few months ago and now in a fight with the Government over salary increases for his police officers.  The question on the lips of many, is to whom will Sgt Wilson be more committed, will that be the PM or will it be his police officers.

Will Sgt Raymond Wilson move to resign from being a board member of the NHT so his police officers does not think his position is being compromised and in so doing, lower their chances of a better salary offer by the government ?

If Sgt Wilson stays on and accept the 5% wage offer, will he be seen a “sell out” and the reason for placing him as a board member last year was precisely  for this reason ?
