Issues Didn’t Matter In Central Westmoreland By-Election

Political historian Troy Caine says the central Westmoreland by-election is a clear example of a poll that had nothing to do with the issues.

Caine has noted that the recent discontent with the PNP Administration in relation to issues such as the Outameni controversy as well as the persistent poor state of infrastructure in the constituency appeared to have no impact on the decision of residents.

Meanwhile, Caine says the JLP needs to figure out how to break down PNP safe seats.

According to the political historian, yesterday’s by-election raises the question of whether the leadership issues in the JLP have really been settled.

He says Holness does not appear to have been able to mobilise the entire JLP around its candidate.

I am figuring out my next move as it is clear this country is going nowhere.
