Riverton Meadows swimming in raw sewage, but some residents mum

Last night I was watching a CVM news clip of an incident that was said to have been taking place in Riverton Meadows. In the video some residents and a US missionary were highlighting the very bad public health situation that was now taking place in the community.

The few who spoke indicated that their living conditions were filthy, with raw sewage flowing freely at residents gate and in the streets and this was corroborated by video footage. They also spoke about the breeding ground for mosquitoes that were created by these conditions and they were getting no help.

I was surprised however that there was no demonstration, which would have normally characterized such a bad state of affairs, but I quickly found out why.

Most residents said, they would not comment on the bad state of affairs as they were diehard PNP supporters and they did not want the party to look bad.

I said to myself , poverty is indeed a good thing for the PNP and poor PNP supporters shall forever remain poor. I asked myself how can anyone put support of party above the health and welfare of them and their kids.

Then I said it’s no wonder the PNP governs so poorly yet continues to win year after year and the country continues to sink the longer they remain in power..
