I keep saying, Jamaicans love politicians too much and as such choose to worship and applaud them vs holding them accountable for what they are supposed to do as well as their announcements.

Close to 5,000 jobs are expected under the J$50 billion K-Factor programme which was launched Wednesday night.
The programme will encompass a range of projects in the potable and waste water sectors.
Robert Pickersgill, Minister of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change, in launching the K Factor programme on Wednesday, noted that J$15 billion worth of projects had already received approval and were in various stages of development.

“The partnership has, as its aim, the sustainable regeneration, rehabilitation and improvement of the water and waste-water systems, which are critical to the health, sanitation, and well-being of Jamaicans, as well as to the development of our country,” Robert Pickersgill, minister of water, land, environment, and climate change said at the function, which was held at Hotel Four Seasons, St Andrew.
Dawn of a new era
He added: “Our function tonight marks the dawn of a new era of improved water and waste-water service by the NWC. It is occurring at an opportune time when resource management, conservation, and the sustainability of our water and sanitation infrastructure are among the key issues being deliberated regarding Jamaica’s 2030 development agenda.”

Well done Mr Pickersgill, you continue to deliver nothing to the Jamaican public, which is keeping with your past performance in other ministry you held in the past. You have managed to get away with poor performance because the public has consistently failed to hold you accountable .
Did the Minister mention the word K Factor last evening, I did not listen his speech.

Wayne Jnr,
Can you give us an update on the sucessess of the K- Factor program. I am giving you guys the opportunity to dismiss the notion that nothing is happening under the PNP, so please grab it.
By the way, bloggers are still waiting for Wayne Jnr to indicate if his life has improved under the current leadership, but with the mention of being honest, the vocal guy has gone silent, I wonder why.
Jay, I would suggest you ask the opposition leader if his life has improved under the current PNP Administration. Isn’t he building a JA$300 Million house? Judge by his rapid rise in wealth and those of countless Jamaicans, we can declare emphatically, yes!
You are too pessimistic Jay. You expect things to happen over night. Give the K-Factor Program a chance and it too will bear many fruits. Jay, who owes NWC over JA$25 Billion and counting? Is it your average Jamaicans who continue to avoid paying their bills, yet expect the NWC to perform magic with limited funds. The problem with the NWC is their refusal to disconnect customers with large outstanding water bills, while they are clueless as to the vast amount of individuals who are not even registered users of their services or those who tap into our portable water source and turn around and sell it.
The problem with the PNP is they continue to balance the needs of the “poor” on the backs of the paying customers and we see the results of such a caring approach…..$25 Billion hole. Jay, will you join me in calling on the NWC to aggressive go after those non-paying customers and those who continue to use our precious commodity without paying for it? Surely you are equally concerned about these non-paying customers as you are about Robert Pickersgill’s non-performance? 😀
Bwoy,
According to Wayne Jnr countless Jamaicans have seen rapid rise in wealth since the PNP came to power( talk about talking with water in your mouth).
Why comrades cannot be honest is beyond me. I told you I have a BS detector and right now it going crazy.
I notice that you never said your life has improved and I am not surprised one bit.
Re the K -Factor program, how much time do you believe must be given for it to work.
Did you notice that in a nationwide broadcast on water crises the minister never gave us an update on such a critical project, don’t you find that strange?
You would probably have not even remember it if I had mentioned it, but again I hold elected members accountable unlike most people.
No to the problem of utililty theft and leakage.
Did you know that part of the K factor program was leak correction and pipe replacement.
Do you know that over $4b was earmarked for leak correction, how much leaks were corrected, how much was spent and how much water have we saved as a result.
Wayne , I believe in performance management, we must run the ministries like a business and where there are performance gaps we bridge those and where there is a pattern of under performance you make the necessary adjustments to get the expected output.
You must set timeslines, saying “give it time” does not cut it for me, for comrades its ok, but certainly not for me.
Now to stealing, I wonder if life is so good why many are not paying and the rest are stealing or is it that most Jamaicans are just darned thieves.

Jay do not waste your time on people who do not think. Government must divest agencies, not organize them like welfare societies, Wayne’s point highlights the problems with statist politicians in the pnp, who think that government assets are troughs
