The laws were amended earlier this week to make the work of the Electricity Sector Enterprise Team legal, given the fact that as I had mentioned the ESET had no legal authority under law to carry our any procurement process for electricity in Jamaica. At the same time the JPS license was amended to allow JPS to replace its ageing generator with the condition that the ESET manages that process.
Once again the PNP when it does not like the rule of law and order and refuses to abide by those roles, simply goes to parliament and changes the law to satisfy itself.
The fact that the country sits back and does nothing, has allowed us to be complicit in this process will come back to not only cost us dearly in the near future, it will show us as people who does not believe in following the rule of law.
