James Forbes fined $800,000 or 6 mths

James Forbes the decorated and well liked SSP was just fined $800k and failing to pay will serve 6 mths in prison.

At the end of the  day, James has escaped a much greater punishment as he could have been given a 3 yr prison sentence.

It’s not often that you see many Jamaicans from all strata of society support a cop, which is sign of the character that James Forbes represents.

A $2,000 ticket has tarnished what was an impeccable career and has cost him $800,000 for this  fine plus attorney’s fees, which could easily put his legal bills over $2,000,000 or 1,000 times the price of the speeding ticket.

I will say once again, its unfortunate to see a seemingly decent cop being caught up in this mess, while dirty and corrupt politicians continue to “represent” the people and a “bungle” of real corrupt cops are walking the streets of Jamaica.

Forbes, I have no doubt  you would have learned your lesson from this case. At the end of the day your sentence is considered reasonable .
