The Jamaican parliament is right now without its supply of electricity from the JPS. The sole supplier of electricity has maintained that it did not cut power to the building, but the outage was due to a fire on a light pole close to the building.
Mp’s according to the Gleaner were seen using paper to cool themselves due to the heat in the building. It was reported that the building is being run by a standby generator, but the ac unit is not connected to the generator.
I suppose the genset is not capable of providing total backup power to the building.
Is this not a crying shame ?
