I will take Jamaicans on a short history of this 360 MW Project, enjoy.
- March 25, 2008 the OUR issues a Request for Proposal to build a 480 MW power plant on a build own and operate (BOO) basis. See attached document here renewables_rfp_ver_11.
- April 29, 2011 the OUR advices that JPS won the bid to provide 480MW of base load and was the sole bidder. See attached document here JPS WINS BID
