PNP says no new taxes, but hold the celebrations.

The Finance Ministers recent pronouncement  of no new taxes is probably correct . With the massive fall off in taxes it was being mooted that the Government would impose taxes (GCT) on fuel products, that would have been a new tax. So that is what the minister really meant to say, no new category of taxes.

What he DID NOT say, was there would be NO increase in taxes, two distinct and very different things.

I must give the PNP credit, they are masters at their game of deception, but I am happy Jamaicans are becoming more and more willing to question their pronouncements
