There is one senator sitting of the side of the Government, that every time he opens his mouth to speak about foreign investment and job creation I want to explode the way I am angry.
It’s the 1990’s and we have these folks led by this guy driving fear into the heart of managers of many of the foreign owned business in Jamaica as well as some local manufactures.
Company’s that readily comes to mind and Goodyear Ja Ltd, Colgate Palmolive, Bauxite, Red Stripe, J Wrag and Nephew and others.
These guys were literally ” chawing fire” to use a colloquial term and would initiate strike just by the snap of a finger if they thought management did something they did not like.
Fed-up with the style and stance by these folks , the overseas based company’s pulled up “stumps” and left Jamaica having not been able to deal with the numerous case of industrial actions mainly called by these sets of guys.
Fast forward 20 years later and one of these guys is sitting on the government side in the senate , having help to destroy a significant portion of the manufacturing sector in the turbulent 1990’s.
Jackass say d world not level and its so true.
Foreign investors do NOT forget folks, they have long memories and word gets around, but what it shows is that Jamaicans are NOT paying attention as if they were, people like this could not be in Government talking about the Prime Minister is a “frequent achiever ” and not a “frequent flyer”.

I am big Motty fan too, goldfinger. Motty Perkins prediction are coming true, when the centre cannot hold things fall apart. He was speaking about many issues before they became popular.

Jay, if you could somehow find the speech that was made by the goodly Senator prior to a strike at Goodyear, resulting in the company pulling out of Jamaica.

Yes jay, you are good at digging up stuff on the PNP, but reluctant to do the same on errant JLP Members. What gives? But I agree, CullCull shouldn’t hold back the the information.
