The Jamaican Prime Minister the Rt Honourable Portia Simpson Miller while speaking to the TVJ reporter after a handing over ceremony of some houses in Majesty Gardens quipped ” Those who are being critical of me are just a small section of the society who are only being critical because the right COLOUR was not in power”.
The media largely ignored this gaffe by the Prime Minister but I was not about to let her off the hook, with that obvious racist comment.
The Prime Minister however appeared to have recognized the gaffe and sought to make amends yesterday at a press conference where she quipped ” it’s not about the party colour that you wear”.
The Prime Minister by the above statement is no doubt trying to suggest that her earlier comments was meant to be interpreted as party colour as in orange and green vs the “brown man”hue to which Peter Bunting had earlier appeared to have referred to last week, when he accused sections of the media as being classist and racist.
Nothing the Prime Minister does surprizes me at all, she does an extremely poor job at leadership and when she is called out on her poor leadership, she continue to play the ” humble beginnings card, the colour card and the race card”, in the hopes that people would stop being cricitcal for fear of being labelled classist.
This attempt by the PNP to silence her critics seeks only to further divide the country along as a class line. Portia Simpson Miller is the Prime Minister of Jamaica and holds the highest position in the country and no doubt would have attained some wealth for her years in office. She cannot be considered to be a “poor” woman by any stretch of the imagination, because she has access and status.
Why then does the Prime Minister has this apparent self-esteem problem, whereby any criticism of her leadership is taken as a personal attack vs a genuine concern of the people of Jamaica.
As someone who was very caustic in her criticism of the former JLP government and previous ones, one would have though the PM would be working to do a super job to silence her critics vs trying to defend her position by attacking us.
Madame PM if you believe the heat is too hot, please step out of the kitchen, but stop playing the stupid class card, you are way beyond that point right now.

RJR News understands that a senior member of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is now under investigation by the police.
The JLP Member of Parliament is being investigated on allegations of assault and issuing a death threat to the complainant, a Clarendon businessman.
Sources say the MP plans to file a counter-complaint, claiming he was threatened.
Reports are that on Monday, the JLP MP and the businessman got into a dispute over a woman in upper, St Andrew. During the dispute, it is alleged that a firearm was drawn.
Sources said the leadership of the JLP is aware of the incident and is monitoring the matter.
It is understood that the JLP MP is to report to the police later Thursday for questioning.
He is being represented by defence attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson.
I guess we will hear soon who he is as I am not sure why his name is being kept a secret.
I am in the dark with this one, but with only a few deputy leaders its not hard to figure out which one it is.
If a jlp politician does something corrupt, you are not afraid to expose him. The party hacks on this blog believe you are rabidly partisan like them, but then again the party has receive numerous funds from lotto scammers, so cullcull’s attempt to show up that JLP MP is a big flop. He should tell you about the numerous pnp councillors that have been charged for various crime over the years

She doesn’t even have to release. He picks upon the scent at the moment of creation/production and on its way down the canal. He is that good! Some have even hinted at his ability to predict such events an hour in advance of the creation. His nose is always at the ready, on the prowl, surveying/sampling the universe in search of any PNP scent…past, present and future.
Maybe just maybe I am a PNP insider, ever thought about that.
