If the Government of Venezuela is going to raise the price of petrol for its citizens, why would it continue to subsidize low oil prices to countries like Jamaica, that is really not commonsense economics.
It therefore stand to reason that the terms and conditions under the PetroCaribe deal will have to change in order for the economy of that country to pull itself up by the boot straps. I fear therefore that the Jamaican economy could be in more problems that it is already in, when the interest rate changes in the very near future.
