The Gleaner reported a siege in Montego Bay, where its been reported that a total of 12 people were murdered in what the police is calling gang warfare.
“I don’t know if they are moving away from scamming to robbery, but I do know that some of the criminals who have challenged us in recent gun battles have turned out to be men with lottery-scam antecedents,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Warren Clarke, the commanding officer for Area One, which covers St James, Hanover, Westmoreland, and Trelawny, stated in a recent Gleaner interview.
The above is a statement by the Assistant Commissioner for area one. Now just two days ago I wrote a piece entitled ” Are Jamaicans that stupid”, where I made the following assertion.
Anti lottery law. This was pushed through due to pressure being brought to bear on the country by the mighty USA. This law seeks to punish Jamaicans who have scammed citizens of the USA ( Note it intends to protect USA citizens). USA Requirement.
I was lamenting the fact that we are working on every law that have been designed to satisfy the need of an outside body, agency, Government or people of another country, while the laws that are designed to PROTECT the LIVES and INTEREST of Jamaicans are left to languish, because the lives of the Jamaican people is of very low value, so murdering 12 in a week ” a nuh nuttin”.
Jamaicans have asked for Bunting to resign and resign he may have to, but he should not be allowed to demit office until those two pieces of legislation are debated and passed.
USA gave Jamaica a deadline on Anti lottery bill and that deadline was met
IMF gave Jamaican deadlines on various new laws and most have been met, while work is taking place in earnest meet the upcoming deadlines.
Jamaicans have refused to give the Government any deadline on the DNA and Anti Gang Legislation and Jamaicans are dying in great numbers as a result. Our failure to speak out and demand action has given us a real DEAD LINE .
One man suggested we wait another 3 years to vote them out, I say hell no, lives are too important to wait another 3 years, but then another 3,600 Jamaicans would have already been murdered.
Mr Bunting you and the other Cabinet members have until Jan 31, 2014 to have the DNA and Anti gang legislation passed and become law.
