I continue to be amazed at the level of investigation that goes on in this country and the ease with which, criminals are able to beat the sick system we have here. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting that any of the guys on trial in the Lizard Williams murder case are innocent of guilty.
I would like to look for a brief moment as yesterday headlines, which said ” Blood found at Kartels home does not match Lizard’s Williams Uncle”.
The main plan of any defence team is to create doubt in the mind of the witness, by either presentation of evidence that goes to proof something was not present or make the witness look like a lair, that is their job.
The main job of the prosecutor is to prove beyond reasonable doubt, that the person on trial was in fact the one who committed the crime either by circumstantial evidence or other evidence which are beyond question.
Now we were told that blood was found at the scene of where a murder allegedly took place and for the most part were led to beleive that the blood belonged to the victim ie Lizard Williams. The DNA evidence failed to identify the blood based on DNA sampling to be an that of Williams given the genetic profile of DNA of close relatives, which would all bear some similarities.
For the defence team this is a big win, as what it has shown and will be interpreted to suggest that had Williams been killed at the scene as its being alleged, than blood found at the scene would most likely have belonged to Williams.
For members of the public, this is a key revelation and no doubt in the minds of the jurors a seed of doubt has been sown, which is exactly what the defense team wants.
Now I posit that the fact that the blood did not belong to Williams means nothing at all and here is why. The fact that the blood sample collected did not match Williams relatives does not mean that Williams was not killed at the scene, all it means is the blood belonged to someone else.
The question is who did the blood belong to?
If DNA can prove who the blood came from, what it will prove is that the person in question was present at that scene and would have to give account of how his blood came to be spilt at what was supposed to be a crime scene.
Is the prosecutor planning to explore this angle and if so when?
Now there are some circumstantial evidence to suggest that the blood found could have belonged to the person who was bitten by a dog. We heard evidence that an individual was bitten by a dog and it would be reasonable to assume that when bitten by a pit bull, you are likely to bleed.
The defence team is running rings around the prosecution team and once again the DPP and her team appears to be found wanting, not to mention the sloppy police work.
I have very strong feeling that Vybz Kartel and the other accused will walk free given some key issues that should have been addressed by the prosecution were missing and the doubt created by evidence produced thus far.

Maybe the so-called Uncle is not related in anyway to Lizard. With the high incidence of “Jackets” in Jamaica, there is a high probability that they are not related. Is this Uncle established on the mother or father side? Maybe the prudent thing the prosecution/police should have done is to secure other sources of DNA for Lizard (from personal effects, etc.). The blood could be from another victim or one of the perps that took part in the slaying. The house was deliberately set ablaze to conceal/destroy evidence.
BTW, where is Lizard body? Rumours has it that he was “officially” cremated by a legal entity (Funeral Home).
I heard about the cremation too. You have asked some good questions also. Think you will get answers ?
