Now that the healing in the JLP has begun…

Yesterday’s events offered a glimmer of hope for the JLP and Jamaica, as persons aligned to the former challenger Audley Shaw appears to have been offered space in the JLP at the highest level. I am truly encouraged by this move by Andrew Holness and I hope this is the beginning of the renewal of the party.

The party must now immediately move to increase its base by reaching out and connect with the grass root Jamaicans, who after-all are the people who decides who lead this country. The JLP must move with earnest to engage the hundreds and thousands of Jamaicans who have been suffering at the hands of the PNP Government and have been tightening their belts, while the Prime Minister continues to fly all over the world at a frantic pace.

The JLP must begin their road show come early 2014 at the local level in each district in each parish. They must offer the people some semblance of hope after the carnage brought on by this incompetent PNP administration. They must move to relate to the people so they can understand what is going on and the tricks that have been played on them in the past and continues today under the PNP.

They must be told how the PNP entrenched corruption by placing genetically connected persons in key positions in the public sector and how this facilitates the continued levels of corruption we see and how that translates to us paying higher taxes and paying more to continue to support this unholy alliance.

The JLP must present a new persona, one that is willing to listen to the views of the people and acknowledge their participation  and being very respectful in the process. The JLP has been perceived ( in the media) and they will also have to work to change  that image.

Let the work begin now, we must remove the PNP from office or Jamaica will never exhale
