Is JPS trying to screw over its customers and in doing so, join the orgy ?

The JPS has been campaigning on its new initiative , which says if you pay early and in full, ypu get a $250 rebate on your next bill. What JPS has not told the consumer however, is if the pay late, they are charged $250 PLUS GCT on the next bill.

Having done this and making money, JPS appears to have stepped up the ante on its customers, by slowing changing the billing cycle and moving up the payment dates on your bill.  I have seen a number of customers bill, which were originally being due after the 25th of the month, now moving up one week to as far as the 16th of the month.

This places the consumer in a position, whereby having been used to waiting on payday to make payments are being forced to pay late, which earns the JPS a additional $250 ( GCT goes to the government).

Most Jamaicans who for the most part do NOT pay attention to these details may not have seen this and this is why we have decided to make a public statement on this issue, which I consider nothing short of deception and another backhanded way of screwing the consumer.

Will JPS challenge my claim ?

I hope they do.
