Andrew may have won the battle but has lost the war

The old guards who collectively average over 30 yrs on the opposition bench has once again captured the party and by extension the leader.

The leader by virtue of his underhanded approach has not split the party almost down the middle, given that Shaw and his backers have 43% of the vote. There is no overwhelming majority support for Andrew Holness and he is starting from a weakened position and continues to get weaker as he tries to purge the party of those who he claims does not have his back.

This party cannot rebuild itself in 2 years and if Holness continues to listen to the old guard as well as those commentators who is encourage him to get rid of the 43% and who clearly have no love affair with the JLP, will find himself being the longest-serving opposition leader ever.

  1. That is my fear of what will happen to Holness if he listens only to the dinosaurs in the party. It is instructive that most of the youth in the party supported Shaw and not the self-claimed transformational one.

While Holness is busy rehashing the 1990’s the PNP is on the ground laying the foundation for a second term.

    • My friend your fears will be realized based on what I am hearing.
One of the big difference between the JLP and the PNP, is the PNP difference are mostly hidden and resolved by party elders.
The JLP issues are made public and their are now “elders” to help resolve this issue privately.
