Richard Azan has learned a lot from PJ Patterson !

PJ Patterson resigned from the Michael Manley led Government when he was finance minister, over what was termed the Shell waiver scandal and when leaving he said ” I shall return” and returned he did and was elected President of the PNP and Prime Minister.

PJ Patterson went unto to led the PNP to 4 consecutive victories over a hapless JLP and became Jamaica’s longest serving Prime Minister.

Fast Forward to 2013 and Richard Azan resigned under a cloud of corruption in what became know as the Spaldings Market  Scandal and when leaving he said ” I have no regrets, if what I did was corrupt, then I am happy to be called corrupt”.

Richard Azan has returned to his substantive role as Junior Minister and no doublt will be further rewarded with full ministerial responsibilities soon. Given recent news that Dr Omar Davis is on sick leave, Richard Azan is no doubt set to act in that role until the Minister is back to work.

Given past precedence, I would not be surprised if in  a few years from now , Richard Azan l becomes President of the PNP and Prime Minister of Jamaica and continues to give the JLP more time in opposition.

Phillip Paulwell had better look out because Richard Azan is now in the runnings, when Portia eventually leaves office.

Jamaicans will be only too happy to have Richard Azan as Prime Minister, as he largely is a reflection of the what Jamaica has become.
