Round one.
PNP reinstate Richard Azan in his old job and we get a feeble response from the now weakened JLP opposition.
The PNP throws a number of jabs, an upper cut, a body shot and then a low blow. The referee named civil society protests at ring side, but the referee in the ring( the Jamaican people) says carry on, that was a clean punch. Round one ends.
Round one to the PNP.
The old cabinet already looks tired and this is only round one. Instead of routing for their man in the ring the opposition is shouting for the 2nd ranked fighter to be disciplined for trying to tell the man in the ring how to fight.

I will watch to see how Holness conducts himself over the next few weeks. If he appears just to be a conduit for Charles/Samuda/Warmington I will write him off.
Yes, well I too will watch carefully over the coming months. He has placed himself in a hole somewhat predictively as he perhaps does not want to be perceived as weak.
The key for me is whether he will be able to integrate back Shaw, Tufton, Vaz, Bartlett and Williams into the fold. This will not be easy given the start so far but against a strong PNP may be his only choice it he wants to win an election.
