The powerful wall street journal today asked serious questions about the credentials of Jadco Chairman Dr Herb Elliott.
The article which was written today, noted the following:
The man responsible for overseeing the drug testing of Jamaica’s Olympic athletes, including its vaunted sprinters, may not have received all of the graduate degrees on his résumé.
As Jamaica’s antidoping commission faces an inquiry into allegations that its testing before the 2012 Olympics was inadequate, a review conducted by The Wall Street Journal could not verify that Herbert George Elliott, the commission’s chairman, earned a master’s in chemistry from Columbia University and a medical degree and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Université Libre de Bruxelles

So Dr Herb Elliott has practiced Medicine in Jamaica since 1975 without any formal medical training? If that is the case, swift action is needed to ascertain what damage or lost of lives have occurred over the years due to this fraudster. After reading that linked article, it is clear this so-called Doctor is a fraud, as he was very evasive and could not provide very basic information. He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but I doubt this will happen based on what occur with the other individual that had multiple bogus credentials (Omer Thomas). I wonder how many of these individuals are roaming the Island pretending to be someone they are not?

Do the universities maintain a yearbook, graduation list. maybe they can check a few people in the year which he would have graduated…. A Jamaican doing a Ph.d at Columbia should stand out.
According to the link Jay provided, he got his MD and PhD from Université Libre de Bruxelles. He earned a master’s in chemistry from Columbia University. The Wall Steet Journal is a highly reputable Newspaper and I’m sure they did their due diligence. The Doctor have a lot of explaining to do and it will blow up in his face when all is said and done. I wish him all the luck in the world.
Well it so happens that I know Herb Elliott very well because we studied medicine together first in the Congo and then in Brussels at the Université Libre de Bruxelles were we graduated in 1975 I think.
Furthermore he was the bestman at my wedding! We also had quite a lot of Jamaican rhum drinks…I can assure you he is a fully qualified MD as I am!
