Jamaica Lame Party( JLP) successful campaign to remain in opposition !

The Jamaica Lame/Lazy Party ( JLP)appears to have launched what is now appearing to be a successful campaign to remain in opposition, thus allowing the inept, inherently corrupt and incompetent PNP to continue its quest to mash up the country.

Firstly Mr Andrew Holness appears to have surrounded himself, not with reformist, but traditionalist, who themselves were part of the reason the JLP remained in opposition of 18.5yrs!  The real issue for me is not the fact that there is nothing new and different about Andrew Holness team, in fact contrary to what he has been saying, Holness team is turning out to be the  Ray Ray team.

The kicker for me is to hear these old men who are supporting Holness,  suggesting that the party need a young leader and not one who after 5 years, will go into retirement leaving the party to search for another leader soon.  This is not new and different thinking, are these guys suggesting the position of leader is a life long  position and not one that should be changed let’s say every 10 years. Are they not suggesting that by electing Holness at age 41 he will be in a position to lead the party for close to 25 yrs before he retires, thus denying anyone else the opportunity to become leader, is that what they are really saying ?

My reason for suggesting that the JLP has launch a campaign to remain in opposition, is related to something I touched on above, when I said the older guys in the party wants a young  leader elected so the party can have stability at the head and youth is needed for leadership.

Let’s therefore explore some of whom have been speaking about age.

1. Pernel Charles, age >60
2. Everald Warmington , age >60
3. Karl Samuda, age>60
4. Hutchinson, age >60

By the time the next election comes around these guys will be close to retirement if not at retirement, so why should people vote for them. The very reason why people should not vote for Audley to become leader, can be used to suggest that all the above and the others I did not mention who are also  too old, should not be considered as suitable candidate, given they would  will be on walking stick and truly cannot robustly represent the people.

This is the very argument, which the PNP will be using as it gears up to challenge whoever the winner of the contest to become JLP leader and perennial opposition leader later on, after the Nov 10, 2013 elections at the party’s annual conference.

The Jamaica Lazy/Lame Party has done so much damage to itself in the last  few weeks, its going to take a super human effort for it to heal after Nov 10, 2013 and one thing it must do regardless of who wins, is to start looking a a new set of younger candidates, given the old guard have already said, they would not be suitable candidates given their ages and knowing that the PNP and their superior election machinery will exploit this the max. Take away this and the JLP would have just removed some ammunition from the PNP big guns.

A word to the wise is sufficient, Mr Chuck over to you sir, I know you are a voice of reason.
