The month of October was a very bad one for the Jamaican consumer as utility prices trended higher and Jamaicans were faced with another round of price increases as the dollar runs away like Usain Bolt does in a 100m race.
What is amazing however, is the deafening silent of the country in the face of these massive increase and the general increase in the cost of living for ordinary Jamaicans who make up the majority. What on earth am I missing, why has there been no massive demonstration to protest the high cost of living ?
Is our politics of such that the poor, the majority of whom is said to support the PNP so rabid in their support, that they would rather suffer in silence and eat mongoose vs demanding that the Portia Simpson Miller led PNP administration take immediate steps to rescue the country. Are you telling me Jamaica are so dumb, that they will support a party even if that party is making their lives a living hell, that cannot be true. na sah.
While the country is headed ( I cannot say led, since clearly there is an absence of a leader) downhill the Jamaica Lazy Party( JLP) is having a field day attacking each other and suggesting to the public that they cannot even be a good opposition and therefore are not in a position to take over leadership of the country. The JLP has said to us that neither the incumbent of the challenger are good enough to lead Jamaica at this point in time, so where do we go from here?
Last Friday another family packed and left saying they see no future in Jamaica, sadly I share that view
