This is the letter written by frequent commentator Lipton Matthews
Since it is widely believed that the previous administration was voted out of office for being corrupt, arrogant and out of touch, we expected the present administration to deliver a more demure style of governance – but we were wrong.
Upon winning the general election, Portia Simpson Miller has tried to distance herself from the various controversies. The prime minister is very adept at attending celebrations but finds it tortuous to articulate a convincing economic plan for the country. Of course, her inability to comment on the real issues doesn’t prevent her from majoring in minor matters like sports.
