It’s to get Jamaica’s energy cost down from its very high value to around US$0.20 per KW.
That is partially true, Phillip Paulwell wants electricity rates to come down so we can be more competitive and the public is rightfully behind him on this one. The timing of the deliver of the plant is however very critical and this is forcing the minister to become very involved in the process.
The plant must be delivered before the end of 2016, it must happen by that year because that is the year when the next national elections are due. This project is what Phillip and the PNP are “banking” on as one of the success stories to propel the party to victory.
The party must be in a position to say we are the one who was able to cut electricity prices by 50% and that is no mean feat.
The PNP is driven not by a need to really move Jamaica forward, it’s always all about doing what is necessary to win national elections. How much longer will we continue to run a country like this ?

You are right on the money Jay.
As the JLP people have suddenly come to realize, you cannot govern if you don’t win. That is why, all over the world, politicians put their parties first, and that is why PJ told Portia the “take care of the party”
I have come to realize that politicians are actually the most honest persons among us – think about it for awhile and you may see what I mean.
Yes, take care of yourself at all time.
