Why is Mayor Barnswell still in office?

Why does the PNP as a party and its supporter are so averse to doing the right thing?

Why does the PNP members feels that when they become involved in illegal or corrupt acts, it should be swept under the carpet, ignored and they should continue remain in office and “work for the people”.

In any decent country, where a government prosecutor rules than a siting politician be charge for an offense, that person would feel  obligated to do the  right thing and resign. Why does the same thing not apply in Jamaica

In the UK  a politician who happens to be married is said to have slept or had some sort of affair with a prostitute and what does he do, he resigns. He does not wait to be charged or be asked to resign, he has disgraced his wife and his office and resigns as soon as it became a public matter.

The Jamaican politician particularly those belonging to the ruling party does not see things the same way, they set the rules and will resist any attempts made by civil society to get to the address corruption, perceived or real

Are these they type of people who Jamaicans wants to continue being at the helm ?

Mr  Barnswell refusal to step aside has done a lot to show the PNP is a party that  supports corruption as long it’s done by members of the PNP.

The fact that the Minister of local Government, Noel Arscott and the Prime Minister , Portia Simpson Miller have both refused to act, is further proof that this party does NOT take the issue of corruption seriously. Sister P can at this point not mention another word about stamping out corruption, because on every occasion that a situation has presented itself for her to act, she covers her eyes and mouth and refuses to act.

Thank you Sister P, you really are serious about STAMPING out corruption, it seems however those words are just that, words, your refusal to act thus far speaks volumes.
