Richard Azan and the PNP bamboozles Jamaicans once again !

I must admit the PNP are masters at their craft and they certainly know how to play the media and Jamaicans, but their acting cannot fool commonsenseja. So let me take you back in time, just a few months and refresh your memory and show you all how Jamaicans have been tricked .

The day is April 16, 2013 and on that date commonsenseja carried a report by the PNP cabinet headed by the Prime Minister and the note was as follows :

“Cabinet notes that the issues are not directly related to the duties of Mr Richard Azan, in his capacity as minister of state in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing. Pending receipt of the report from the OCG, he will continue in the position,” noted the release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM)

I then framed 3 questions, which I will note below.

So  my interpretation of the above is as follows:

1. Richard Azan screwed up as Member of Parliament.
2. Richard Azan did not screw up and Minister of  State in the Ministry of TW&H.
3. Richard Azan has two “skins”, he can jump out of one skin into another skin as the situation suits him or the party.

It’s Friday, September 20, 2013 and we get a report that Richard Azan has decided to step aside as Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport Works and Housing and the Prime Minister has accepted his decision to “step” aside ( note he did not use the word resign).

Civil Society was happy, the leader of the opposition and the JLP was happy , other well thinking Jamaicans were happy, but not commonsenseja and here is why.

Richard Azan “resigned “as Minister of State in the Transport, Works and Housing Ministry, but his error of judgement in the Spalding Market issue, was not made in his capacity as Minister of State, but as Member of Parliament.

How did everyone else miss that, are we not paying attention to the details and instead getting caught up emotionally in the drama.

The resignation ploy was carefully crafted by a clever PNP and the public swallowed it hook, line and sinker. Now, had Richard Azan resign as Member of Parliament, his resignation as Minister of State in the TW&H would have been automatic, since he has one job (State Minister) by virtue of being an elected member of Parliament ie a MP

So he resigns in one skin but get to remain in the very skin in which he acted improperly, how convenient and how corrupt is that and obviously this move is supported by  a Prime Minister who vowed no corruption will be tolerated in her government

Commonsenseja therefore being the  lone wolf is calling on Mr Richard Azan to resign as Member of Parliament forthwith.
