No Nine Day Wonder Councillor !

Richard a me fren and mi sure you won’t mind me calling you Richie. Mi a tell u nuh watch nuh face, a nine day wonder diss, dem soon stop talk about dis. Dem caan upset d apple cart, no time. We a comrade fi life  and stay strong cuz u dun know seh we deh yah fi you.

What the name of that Councillor , he was obviously wrong, this was no nine day wonder.

The PNP thought that after years of corruption up to 2007 , when they were able to do just about anything and get away with it , this time would have been no different but how wrong could they be.

Between 2008 and 2011 we had at  least 3 resignations of JLP cabinet Ministers including leader of the party and Prime Minister as they succumbed to public pressure from civil society, the media and social network.

The die was cast during that period, which said corruption would not be tolerated and social media has played a huge role in keeping the pressure on public officials who have been involved in misconduct while in office, even though none of those rose to to the level of criminal conduct.

The PNP and its surrogates are still trying to say to the public that Azan did not benefit personally from the shop building scandal, even though not a single person that I know thought he did or has accused him of personal gains.

The issue is one of misconduct of a public official and there is no clearing of his name here, he acted improperly and that was the issue on which he resignation was being demanded and nothing else, so don’t try misdirection here , we are way past that ie we can’t be fooled.

To that Councillor, you are one big embarrassment and I think out should try to avoid making any public statements for  a looong time.

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has shown to Jamaica that she simply does not care about corruption in her party given her strong support for over 7 months to a Junior Minister who acted in a corrupt manner.

So much for your corruption fight sister P, you can now continue to remain mute and continue to preside over what can be now considered to be a corrupt government  !

  1. You know we are in trouble as a Country when a politician feels free to make such imbecilic rants.
