Tell the Contractor General to go to hell, the show must go on !

“We cannot have the OCG derailing this matter again. It has to go forward,” Paulwell said.

Paulwell told The Gleaner that he had no regrets about his actions, adding, “I am absolutely certain that it is the right course.”

In other words the Contractor General can go to hell because this government will NOT accept impotence as an option.

Flashback to  April 2012 when Omar Davis boldy declared

This is not picking a fight with the contractor general. He has his work to do, but not only do we have our work to do, but we (also) have an obligation to respond to the real needs in the society for economic development,” Dr Omar Davies, the minister of transport, works and housing, told members of the House of Representatives yesterday.

He continued

We do not accept impotence as an option,” he said.

“This administration, this Parliament, is very much aware of the knife’s edge in terms of the timing and we would suggest that it is not apparent that this understanding of the fact that investors are not going to hang around in perpetuity, hoping that you may come to a decision,” Davies said.

Notice the language from  these two senior members of the People’s National Party , essentially what they have both said is they ” nah tek nuh talk, we ago do wha we feel fi do ” , if in their opinion its’ in the best interest of Jamaica.

Clearly the PNP cabinet members and by extension the entire Portia Simpson Miller led administration does not respect or believes in transparency and following the rules of the land. This is a grand departure from Portia Simpson Miller inauguration statements , when she said her government will respect the rules and will be transparent in everything it does.

This is a worrying pattern of behaviour by the PNP administration, who now believes the landslide victory they got in Dec 2011, gives them the right to do as they please, without due regard for the processes and the adherence to good and transparent governance.

Full speed ahead comrades , as this country continues to move faster and faster to the edge of the cliff and anarchy.

Move out of the way Dirk Harrison, we nah mek you stop d progress, we ago tun up d ting fi Jamaica.

I have preached for the last 2 years now that the PNP was the worse thing that could have happened to Jamaica and day by day, we see living proof.

For those like I Davis , who continues to bury their heads in the sand for their beloved corrupt political party, I say, have it your way, but Jamaica and Jamaicans are going to pay dearly for this experiment with the PNP.

Mi done talk fi now…

  1. Very ‘Testy’ today Jay…

  2. Yeah, nothing is going to stop us – not even two likkle lizard or a CG; if these were not serious things the statements would be good jokes.

Jay, I am being sarcastic – just watch your blood pressure. Our politicians don’t give a sh…t, and we as Jamaicans are not given to giving “instructions” to our leaders, like how the people in other countries such as Brazil, Egypt, Poland, Libya, Syria, etc. do . And our Politicians know it.

In Brazil recently, they raised bus fare by a relatively small amount and the people came out into the streets to “instruct” the government to roll it back – the government had to follow the “instructions” of the bosses = the people.

Until our politicians are made to realize in a tangible way that “people power” is indeed greater than the “people in power” nothing will change at John’s shop.

Jay, form a no-nonsense party or get a no-nonsense leader for your party nuh man!

    • I have given very serious consideration to entering the political fray, but wife is not in favour of this move at all.

I often question, what will it take for Jamaicans to say enough is enough and DEMAND action. Mi nah talk bout riot and bun dung d place, but instead stand together as one people and tell Portia and whoever is the JLP leader, that ” hey we have had enough of your bullsh@t, this is how it will go from here forward”.

The reason its so hard is two main reasons

      1. Social Class
      2. Poverty

      1. Those folks in the higher class will form no part of a protest, in fact they tend to benefit from both parties by virtue of their position in the society. Also Jamaican like to be able to separate themselves from those who don’t have. So we will buy the stuff no matter the cost, just to be able to create or show a distinct difference between me and you

      2. Poverty, if you feed me that I am likely to be loyal to you even if everyone around me is starving and you are the one responsible for that starvation.

Wonder why one person continues to plead undying love for the poor.

      • Jay, the first rationale response of the “human animal” is self-preservation. That is to say, people will not act against their self-interest. I have said it before in this blog, and was “shouted down” – Jamaica is a very small place and people have to watch their mortgages.

Jay, I have been there, and that is why I am buying green backs.

I must say, that I think the JLP desperately needs a leader like Audley Shaw to “stir things up”; Holness is pathetic.
