The Minister of National (In) Security of Jamaica has finally come around to admit what many Jamaicans have been saying for a long time and that is crime is on the rise, in particular murder and robbery. The Minister last night said, we have moved from an average of 3 murders per day to 4 per day, which is very significant.
The statistics get even more frightening if one compares summer of 2012 to the summer of 2013. In summer of 2012 there were 41 murders in Jamaica, this however skyrocketed to 90 murders in the summer of this year (2013) or an increase of a mind-boggling 120%.
Folks we are not taking about products here, we are talking about human lives being taken by rampant criminal elements in the country. These elements have become more and brutal as they seek to bring Jamaica closer and closer to anarchy.
What is the plan that this PNP administration has to deal with the scourge of crime in Jamaica?
Well more bills will be coming to parliament and these will tackle our crime problem.
