Jermaine “Tuffy” Anderson delivers !

On a night when the Jamaican team lacked the killer instinct in front of goal, Jermaine “Tuffy” Anderson delivered what his more celebrated footballers failed to deliver in many matches and that was scoring.

After being ignored by Captain Burrell, Whitmore and the rest of the coaching staff, Tuffy was reluctantly added to the squad by the new coaching staff and after being given about 20 minutes, he delivered a goal after only 2 attempts. Tuffy reminds me of another Jamaica striker, Paul “Tegat” Davis, not an elegant player, but put the ball at his feet in front of the goal and chances are you will get a goal.

Jermaine Anderson turned a “nothing” ball into a goal , this is a ball that would have ran out of play had it been any of our imported player, but not Tuffy, he got one chance and SHUT UP the critics who said he was too old, don’t have the international; experience and was not the future of Jamaican football, He had a point to prove and he did just that last night, embarrassing the previous coaching staff and Captain Burrell in the process

Marlon King for example had not kicked a football from February of this year, yet he was allowed to start vs a man who has been scoring goal after goal, be it in our local league, which is not at the same standard as the Premeir league in the UK.

No doubt, Tuffy will now be getting more play time, when his efforts at this stage of the campaign is meaningless.

Tuffy hats off to you sir, you got one chance in the entire competition and you scored one goal and there is more that a good chance that had you been given more chances you would have delivered more goal and we would have still been in the race for a spot in Rio.

Proud of you iyah, I was jumping for joy when you scored from what was really a half or even a 1/4 chance.

I wonder what Burrell is saying this morning?

A little too late Captain !

  1. Am I the only one who noticed that when Tuffy scored that goal, there were no wild celebrations from the boyz on the field. In fact I can only recall seeing a single Reggae Boy going over to congratulate tuffy. I did not see them chasing him, jumping on his back and giving high 5’s.

    Makes you wanna say hmmm.
