After a near three weeks wait the spiritually ordained and anointed one , the one and only Portia Simpson Miller , Prime Minister of Jamaica saw it fit to update the parliament and hopefully by extension the nation on her recent sojourn into China.
She indicated that the People’s Republic of China was “giving” over J$1B to the Government of Jamaica via grants with presumably no strings attached ( my emphasis).
Having said that, she then launched a broadside against the people of Jamaica who dared to question her administration position with China and the long-term objectives of the Chinese Government. Mrs Simpson Miller dared those questioning the Chinese investments to quit talking and match those funds being made available by the people’s Republic of China before they utter another word.
She chided those who have suggested that Jamaica is bending over (like that PNP supporter who was being Rogered ) to facilitate the Chinese and who are questioning the economic benefit to Jamaica from these Chinese investments, given that the most of the jobs( management and supervisory positions) appears to end up in the hands of Chinese nationals
Portia reminded them that Jamaica was flat broke and did not have the money to fund these projects and was happy that China has been there for us as a friend to lend a helping hand.
Lost to Portia however, is the intent of the Chinese Government, given that Jamaica under her leadership has very little or no plans and these mega projects are either from the previous administration, which this administration does not fully understand or from the Chinese, who are looking to create strategic positions throughout the world as they push to become the dominant economy in the world.
Portia Simpson Miller continues to believe that her actions should be welcomed at all times and never questioned and that any questions that may end up being asked are done so to ” tear down her government”.
The level of insecurity on display as its relates to her leadership has never been before seen in this country. No matter what question is asked of her or her government, it is greeted with cynicism as that question is being seen as one to test her competency or that of her administration. Sometimes they are but in most cases people need more information to come to their own positions or simply seeking clarification.
This is the primary reason for the Prime Minister not having a press conference where she will have to field questions, but instead choose to cowardly wait for Parliament to resume so she can deliver her speech and have he massive ego massaged by the sound of thumping desk and sound of ” here here, here” from fellow comrades and not having to answer any tough questions.
That my friends is my summation of our anointed Prime Minister , Portia Simpson Miller. How much longer she can continue like this and get away with it is anyone’s guess.

She will get away with as long as the people allow it. I had to turn off the radio yesterday, I couldn’t bear to hear another second of the pointless desk banging and the high and mighty tone of the PM.
Anyone who bashes the pm is deemed an underachiever. Portia campaigned on terms like accountability and transparency, but now many in the private sector are accusing her of betraying their trust. When Bruce won, portia promised the jlp a nightmare, but this did not prevent her from winning the election in 2011. Portia never cared about Jamaica, she only wanted power
You all want some advice? Buy US$ and get a safe!
Take a look at the track record of successive governments since independence and then tell me if you all will take my advice.
Stressing is not worth it. PSM and all the others are quite ok.
