Investment Minister Anthony Hylton, snubbed for China Trip

Three days ago in my post entitled ” Minister speaks but Prime Minister takes the foreign trips”, I questioned the inclusion of perennial none performer Robert Pickersgill and the exclusion of Investment and Commerce Minister Anthony Hylton.

I do hope members of the media who will be in attendance at  the press conference to be hosted by the Prime Minister on her return, will ask that question. Someone may now ask, why do you now believe the PM will give us a trip report, given that you have said she usually does not report on anything.

One has to understand how comrades operate, and having this knowledge and the PM who will want to seek the headlines when it suits her, I know she will this time.

The Prime Minister has signed 4 major agreements in China and she will want to boast to the country how successful her trip was and she was able to secure agreements, which will provide much need jobs in keeping with her commitment made via the manifesto to provide jobs for Jamaicans.

There is no way on earth that Portia Simpson Miller will avoid the press this time, hell no, she comes back with a bag of goodies and will want every Tom Dick and Harry to know of her exploits in China.

The details on the agreement, the ministers will speak to, but Portia has to grab the headlines, but who can blame her, she has not had much good news  tell us after close to 20 months in office.
