I was shocked to see our Prime Minister “sprinting” up a flight of stairs and the Chinese officials embarrassingly scampering to keep up with her as she arrived in China on the first day of her visit.
While the Prime Minister was all smiles and thinking it was fun, I found the entire affair downright embarrassing and shows a lack of diplomacy and lack of knowledge on protocol on the path of Portia Simpson Miller .
Someone needs to reign in the Prime Minister.

JAY,
do you suffer from OCD ?
Close, but no cigar. It is more of a “animated” PS-M-Fetish.
Notice how the Gleaner and other news media reported that over 460 inidviuals and companies owed close to JA$10 Billion dollars in taxes and nothing was mentioned on this blog. The only politician that was publicly named, was ex-JLP MP, Clive Mullings. Not sure if that had any bearing why there was no outraged from Jay or any call for an investigation to determine if the ex-MP was bankrupt at the time he served as a Minister and/or MP. Had a PNP MP/Minister was named among the list of debtors, Jay would be all over of this sorry like white on rice.

13% Of CSEC Students Pass Math Since 2009 – Report

The Gleaner also had an article about the fact that only about 13% of our High School graduates (~350K) have attained a passing grade in Mathematics over the past 5-year period (23% pass rate for English). Again, nothing from Jay on the subject, only to have the him throwing his usual attention to issues of no importance regarding the Prime MInister’s…” “sprinting” up a flight of stairs and the Chinese officials embarrassingly scampering to keep up with her as she arrived in China on the first day of her visit”. Bwoy, you Labourites are really adept at majoring in minors. I see Jay has scouring the bowels of the internet to come up with some obscured blog about the abilities of Lisa Hannah. I’m sure he is hard at work search for more dirt on the current administration, especially PSM, given his uncontrollable fixation with the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister running up the stairs was just a jovial social gesture.
You did, I did not see anything wrong.
All you do is to criticize this woman even if she forgets to disagree with you.
Keep up the campaign against her. She certainly won’t lose the next election only because of your silly Blog and discrimmination. Your comments make even those who never use to like, now starting to see something in her.
This is where I differ so much from you folks, I am a firm believer in diplomacy. This was the PM first visit to the country, its not like they are friends and there is nothing to be jovial about at this point in time, its all business.
If the PM wanted to be do something for fun, you work than into the plan and decide on the place for that. This was not the time and place for that bit on indiscretion on the part of the Prime Minister, this is not a joke thing.
No wonder the rest of the world take us for a bunch of jokers, we must learn protocol and follow them at all times.
I know PSM can do no wrong for you and other comrades and you are entitled to your own opinion, but I find her actions rather distasteful.
It’s not I who have created the embarrassing situation PSM finds herself in, it’s her own doing, I merely comment on what I see vs creating the situation.
I am watching her and others like a hawk and will continue to be relentless in my pursuitl to hold these folks accountable and to a higher standard, unlike many who will accept just about anything 😦
Whey yuh sey? Yuh think we should ship Jay back to the land of the Apes? 🙂
Here comes another one who needs lessons. I am now beginning fully comprehend the serious deficiencies that exist in Jamaica.
Keep read you will learn a thing or two.
🙂

I guess I must be suffering from what other protocol experts suffer from and at this point, I will point readers to a situation that occurred in Trinidad in June of this year, involving the President of China and the subsequent reaction.
I am not a protocol expert, but I believe I have a pretty good eye for the finer details that most persons would miss or be completely oblivious to, but let us now turn to what happened in our Caribbean Neighbour to the south.
Trinidad Embarrassed By Protocol During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Visit
“You had the Chinese President arriving in rain. I would have thought there would have been some kind of canopy over the red carpet… there was none. I was also surprised to see the President (Xi) himself holding an umbrella over his head and that of his wife’s head. I have never seen this before. Where were our (protocol) people?”
Another issue Dumas mentioned was that after disembarking from the plane, Xi was not walking, as is customary, next to his counterpart, Trinidad’s President, Anthony Carmona. Instead Xi led the pack alone, and behind him trailed Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, with Carmona behind her. “What was going on? What is this?” Dumas asked.
The protocol officer went unto to note and read carefully:
Dumas also noted that it is his understanding that the nation’s chief protocol officer, Lenore Dorset, was no longer in the position, possibly explaining the lack of detailed planning that went into the event. While these details seem mundane and perhaps unnoticeable to the untrained eye, Dumas said almost every step of a presidential visit is planned out.
“One would always make mistakes… but these are avoidable mistakes. And as someone who has spent so long in the Foreign Service at home and abroad, I am embarrassed,” Dumas said of the visit. “This is not rocket science.
Now I am sure Ivor, Cull and other of like minds would not have seen any issues with what was pointed out by the protocol officers in this case, right guys. 🙂
I guess Jay is doggone picking and is just seeking another reason to criticize the Prime Minister.

Jamaicans are a people who have our own unique flair, there are many countries in the world, yet we stand out.
I will judge her on whether she achieves the goals set out on her trip, not whether she can use chop sticks or knife and fork when eating chinese
Remind us of the goals that were set out for this trip, so we can use those to measure her performance when she gets backs.
Please provide the relevant links, which clearly sets out the objective of the trip. Having received that info I will create a post entitled ” Objectives of PSM China Visit, where they achieved ? ”
On her return and should she obliges us with a trip report, we could then all get a chance to measure her performance vs the stated goals.
I can see you have very high expectations unlike myself, who expects to hear nothing from the PM on her return.
Trivia question.
1. How many foreign trips has PSM made since becoming PM?
2. How many reports have we received from these trips?
Sorry, folks but I am uncompromising, its just my nature. I like to deal with facts and precedents and I use these to try to predict or set my expectations for the future.
Jay, get real instead of focusing on the antics of Mrs. Simpson Miller, you need to be investigating the cost of some foreign trips which are quite irrelevant or instances of corruption. We know she is mad, after all she enjoys majoring in minor issues and speaking nonsense. Who publicly declares that he doesn’t watch news. Mad woman Portia
Yawn….
Testing, Testing!!!
@ Cullcull, we are still waiting ?
