The Trinidadian Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar, today toured some of the crime ridden areas of Trinidad after a bloody few days, which saw 4 people killed including a 17 yr youth.
The Prime Minister was so touched by the pain and suffering etched on the face of the family who lost their loved one’s, shed a tear as she sought to comfort the many persons who came out to see here. She promised that her government will be taking even tougher action to put a dent into the scourge of crime affecting the country.
Go a 1700 miles from the north of Trinidad to Jamaica and we see a Prime Minister who has continuously championed the cause of the poor, but who continues to remain silent as mainly poor Jamaicans are slaughter at a rate of 3 per day.
Maybe its time for Portia Simpson Miller to look south and she how her Trinidadian counterpart has decided to come out and not only speak but to go to the gemba and see for herself what was going on despite the fact that has a Minister of National Security.
