PNP affiliated unions accounting problems, why am I not surprised.

News broke last week that the power JTA and union that is very close to the PNP was under scrutiny after auditors discovered fraud in the region of $100m.  It has been reported that checks were made without invoices and to fictitious persons.

This week news broke that the PNP affiliate union, NWU and UCASE  are under probe after fraud totaling close to $30m was uncovered.

While these two cases may have surprised many folks, commonsenseja is not surprised at all, as its symptomatic of the way anything associated with the PNP is largely mismanaged leading to wholesale corruption.

The PNP rewards corruption despite the frothing at the mouth by the Prime Minister as she insist that ” my administration will not support and we will stamp out corruption”.

We have a former PNP MP Kern Spencer who was involved in plain out barefaced acts of corruption and where is he today and what has happened to that case ?

We have a Minister of Industry and Commerce who owned a man for 6 yrs J$12m and could not make payment and suddenly after less than 18 months that the PNP is in power the man is paid. No one has sought to ask ( except commonsenseja) for the minister to give an account of what happened here and the Integrity commission simply left it alone hoping no one would raise the issue.

Our Former PM resigned due to corruption and was then rewarded with leader of the party and of course PM.  Under his administration Jamaicans encountered corruption, totaling close to $5B

Colin Campbell resigned to to corruption in relation to Trafigura and was recently rewarded with the job of Managing Director of the ailing JUTC , which by all accounts is bleeding like a ” chopped neck”. On his first day of the job he pledge to “turn things around” and we wait to see that happen.

Those are NOT the only two organization where comrades have decided its time to ” eat a big food” and I am therefore using this forum to urge the auditor general to take a very closer look at some of these public sector bodies, where even bigger levels of corruption are said to taking place, involving substantial sums of money.

I have often said Jamaicans love the PNP partly because the majority of the population is corrupt, supports corruption and the PNP as a organization appears to facilitate it most of the time. I am told that since the JLP victory its felt in PNP circles that Mama P shine is fading and they fear the party could be booted from office in 2016. This I am told has set the stage to ” eat as much food as you can”, between now and then because ” We caan afford to teck nuh check”.
