Government deposits $12m into the accounts of TAJ for her to leave.

The PNP government has reportedly deposited a sum to $12m into the account of the CEO of TAJ as they move to remove her from office, even as the courts says she must be reinstated.

This is yet another corrupt act on the part of the PNP as they seek to push their own agenda and have their own way as it relates to who heads public sector bodies in Jamaica.

  1. Lies, lies and more lies. Why would the GOJ put $12M into the account of a Contract employee without having finalized the termination process. Jay, is G2K feeding you information for your blog? I suspect so.

    • Viralee Latibeaudiere should be fired, period. She was the one that wanted to put the TAJ employee (Gladstone Turner) out to pasture when he was only doing his job related to the raid on Ricky Vaz’s Auto Traders Limited. She needs to go now!

    • Maybe you need to stay in tune Wayne. See the Gleaner for further details. I cannot seem to be able to get the Gleaner link posted from the phone. As soon as I can I will.

Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from LIME.

    • Wayne Jr, you are so TRIBAL! Listen to news and read before commenting so you will not look silly. This report is coming from the lady’s lawyer. Is he a member of G2K?

      • Before using adjectives such as silly, you might want to step back a little and examine my comments. Where did I link the G2K comment with the Latibeaudiere series of events? One doesn’t have anything to so with the other. I was attempting to link a series of post with public pronoucements of the G2K body…..get it? FYI, I read the Gleaner article before posting my comments so I know what Wildman said. Sounds as if you are a G2K official feeding Jay the headlines and/or talking points. True?

Talk about Tribal? Both the JLP and the PNP attempt to stack the deck with their ardent supporters. That is the way politics works in every country, whether you like it or not. If you remember the events surrounding the (non-) appointment of Professor Stephen Vasciannie for a post of Solicitor General and the reaction of PM Bruce Golding. Tribal? Personal Vendetta (likening Bruce’s return to the Jamaica Labour Party to a dead cat being tossed on a deck)? Maybe you would like to explain the appointment of the Senior Banking Executive Sonia Christie – now deceased (wife of a JLP councillor at the time), who leaked confidential Banking information to the JLP and was given a plum government job [appointed acting executive director of the Social Development Commission (SDC)]. Reward for a good foot soldier? Tribalism is not something the PNP has a locked on. If you want more examples of JLP contribution to tribalism I will be more than happy to supply the data….just ask!

        • I will not go there with you Wayne Jr. I will only say Bruce was so tribal that he appointed a PS at his office who was a known PNP; same PS who on the night of the election wrote the staff who went there in 2007 and told them they could not come back the day after the election and left their personal effects at the security post which is as far as they could go. Please do not take me there – there is worse!

        • You do not know what is going on. Jay’s story was written in the gleaner, furthermore this administration has a history of firing people for partisan reasons. For example, when the members of Jamaica50 Secretariat were fired, Dr.Davies claimed that it was not wise to work with some people and Dr. Alphansus Davis was fired without being informed

        • The pnp is worse when it comes to stacking the public sector with partisan people. Just look at the appointment of Colin Campbell and Marjorie Taylor a woman who smuggled ganja into prison, Bruce didn’t fired enough of the pnp’s partisan supporters, hence it was very easy for these people to sabotage the government and then the committees of Mr.Patterson are infamous.

  2. Boy these comrades can never see the wrong their party is perpetrating. This government has been systemically removing persons employed during the previous administration as head of the various agencies and departments and replacing them with genetically linked ones. And then we question why we are not moving forward as a country. Mr. Wayne Jr and others with your thinking just get real.

  3. My advice to this lady is, if true, take the money and go have a quiet life. Jamaica’s political system (JLP/PNP) is rotten to the core. Standing on principle only bring stress in this country.

Take the money – pay off your mortgage if you have one, then go on a cruise, then migrate. Simple.

How long the case going to be before the Court? Will the file get lost?

Pragmatism mi say. These times call for self-preservation.

    • Mich, recently your posts have been intriguing and thought provoking. I must commend you on that. I agree with you in most cases.

      • Let’s just say I have been eating a lot of carrots and my sight is getting clearer and clearer. A prudent person has to have or develop the ability to “see around corners”

  4. what kind of jobs can one have in which they cannot get fired ?. any contract must have an exit clause. Latti is not new, so there must be something why them want to get rid of her. Now she has the right to a fair hearing and to give her side and to get her separation money, but I do not think that she can say that no one can fire her. we need to move away from contracts like that. Same thing happening with the DPP and we cannot fire her

    • The only reason the reason the government wants to fire the lady is purely on a political basis. No need to be hee and hawing over the reasons.

      • Are you sure? Not everything is politically driven as you might be inclined to believe. What about the armed raid on Digicel? Is it minutely possible that the decision to carry out that raid might be THE conrolling factor in this case? What say you? Digicel, like most multinational, is known to play both sides of the political fence with expert precision. By the way, do you know the parties on that Plane from Cuba with P. J. Patterson when it was “commandeered” by the Police/Security Forces a few years ago? If you don’t know, ask Jay.

        • Man get your out of the sand. This PNP government couldn’t even wait until the woman’s contract ended before terminating her services. The other lady at the CDA, same thing for her. The one common factor in these two situations is that they were both employed during the previous administration. These posts are not political appointments, but are treated as such.

  5. I really am surprised how some persons are getting excited about this case – the history of both parties is replete with examples of partisan hiring and firing.

And it will not be the last.

I am sure most persons on this blog drive. Well, the hurricane on the horizon is the increase in the Petrocaribe interest rate.
