Tyson Gay test positive for banned substance

We understand his A sample was positive and now await the results of his B sample.

We await further details.

For me I hope his B sample returns a negative test results. This is unlike Tyson Gay who has worked really hard since his injury to become a real contender in both the 100m and 200m.

This is NO time to celebrate and I do wish this is a terrible mistake and he will be vindicated.

Good luck Tyson, we hope it all work out for you because we know this is unlike you.

The news has gotten worse as TVJ is reporting 5 Jamaicans returned adverse findings coming out of the recently held national trials in June.

Its also reporting 2 out out of the 5 are Olympians.
This is a major development.

I don’t have a sabotage story. I don’t have any lies. I don’t have anything to say to make this seem like it was a mistake or it was on USADA’s hands, someone playing games,” said Gay, who fought back sobs as he spoke. “I don’t have any of those stories. I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down.”

The above was a statement from Tyson Gay

  1. Most Track and Field athletes, whether Jamaican or otherwise, are dopers, who regularly use performance enhancing drugs. No athletes today can be competitive without using these banned substances. If you follow the rules, you will end up dead last in any race.

There are those who want to act like ostriches and bury their head in the sand and pretend that these inhumanly times that today’s athletes are turning in is due to their unique physical physique and eating special yams. In reality, our athletes know that without resorting to enhancing drugs, they will be left in their tracks by the other dopers.

The times being done by some todays T&F athletes doesn’t follow a normal bell curve, skewing the curve to the left and creating a false sense of human performance. One has to just look at the fact that these athletes seem to time their participation in international events, always pulling out at the last minute. Why is that? Well, they have the technology to “self-test” to determine when it is safe to participate in these events. If their own test proves positive, they pull out of these events, feigning all manner of illness and/or injuries.

Now this: “MVP Track Club stars Sherone Simpson and Asafa Powell have released statements confirming that they have tested positive for a banned substance”. These are two of the 5 mentioned above. Many more to follow.

    • Asafa trainer has been arrested in Italy. Not sure what to make of this as yet.

I don’t agree that most athletes are taking drugs, at least not today. Its not that the test are foolproof, but if it was as prevalent as you make to believe, more would have been caught.

      • Please. The rules allow you to have 4 times as high a testosterone count as normal. Besides, any one who looks at Usain Bolt’s performance can clearly see that he is on an HGH regimen.

Jamaica has had 8 athletes caught for doping since 2008, not including any this year, and 20 if you go further back. Personally, I think they should allow drugs to be used in sports, and just call it a day,

      • “This is another case of a substance that has nothing to do with cheating. WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency) and the drug testing people have no idea how to catch drug cheaters,” Francis claimed.

The above quote was made by Stephen Francis and is very telling. What he is saying is that WADA is incapable of catching most of the “cheaters” in Track and Field and might explain why most “cheaters” go undetected.

        • Really now?
If he knows who is cheating is it not incumbent upon him to advise WADA of who those cheats are and what they are taking that is undetectable ?

    • I guess I’m not the only one who believe that most of the track and field athlete are taking PED.

One of the top track and field broadcasters in the world, believes that a high percentage of track and field athletes are taking supplements that are on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s banned list.

Trinidadian Ato Boldon, a four-time Olympic sprint medallist, made the statement after revelation that five Jamaicans, including former 100-metre world record holder Asafa Powell and his MVP teammate Sherone Simpson failed drugs tests.

News surfaced of the positive findings just minutes after it was announced that American star Tyson Gay had also failed a drug test.

  2. it hard for the sport. hard to do it yourself. hard to trust people. but Athletes need to know at the end of the day, they will take the blame if things go wrong

  3. Due to internet issues I have been unable to provide timely updates on breaking stories and the reason no report was done on the Jamaican athletes story, which broke minutes after Gay’s report.

The world of athletics has been rocked !

  4. A must listen. Two new unnamed steroids available to athletes and not on the ban list and people are using it. People are paying off WADA testing staff?
