The heading of this post is interpreted by most persons as follows:
Using endurance skills under difficult conditions.
Jamaica is once again at a stage were, this is exactly what’s required.
We were here in the 1970’s
We were in this position to some extent in the 1980’s
In the 1990’s we were once again in a very similar general position
In 2000’s we once again found ourselves in the very same position.
When will Jamaicans get a break, so we can exhale ?
Its our fingers that have gotten us in this position and honestly I am not sure what is going to get us out.
- Today we got a report of a pending increase by JPS.
- Come Saturday, toll goes up.
- The Caribbean Cement Company has noted that we will see a 1% increase in Carib Cement soon. This will be the third such increase since the start of the year.
- NWC has applied for and will get a rate increase (based on the posture of the minister).
- JUTC based on the pronouncement of the minister, could also be seeing an increase.
- Who else is next ?
Is this the better(not bitter) medicine that you all voted for ? ( I was out of the country making green back Mich :)).
Is this what the PNP meant when they boldly declared that ” We ago tun up d ting” ?
Will ” d ting b tun up more dan it tun up already ” and if so by how much ?
When will we get to the point where the majority of us will no longer have to ” suck salt through wooden spoon as result of our poison index finger”.
I am working three jobs and on Saturday mornings I go to the market, instead of picking up ground provisions and vegetables in the supermarket.
What’s my point? I am making adjustments to deal with my reality (and to be able to purchase my green backs!).
Although I agree that we are too passive as a people in the face of 50 years of poor governance, I will also say any given time period is “the best of times and the worse of times”
