Disband the JCF !

This headline screamed from the Sunday Observer dated, June 30,2013 and was attributed to controversial crime fighter Reneto Adams.

He did not stop there, according to the report he also noted that the JLP has done a better job at crime fighting that the PNP.

Now we all know the JLP was not too fond of Adams and his methods given his propensity to deal harshly with the JLP stronghold and his runs in with that area on more than one occasion.

It will be interesting to see if folks now say Rento is anti-PNP , given the nature of our people to label anyone who dares to criticize the other party.

Heh-HeH-Heh, so predictable. I was counting down the hours it would take you to generate a related thread to Reneto Adams’ swipe at the PNP. Anyone with a modicum of common sense would realize that statement is actually an indictment against the JCF, an organization that Adams served in for over 40 years. The JCF is an autonomous body, free to develop crime fighting strategies and generate operational plans to combat crime. These strategies/plans should be independent of which party is in power and should be such as to survive successive governments. From what Adam is saying (without supplying any relevant statistics) is that the JCF is incapable of carrying out their mandate without directions/interference from the political directorate. What does that say about the JCF?

Additionally, one could argue that Reneto Adams is now carrying a lot of bad blood for the PNP, given that he was unceremoniously sidelined and forced into early retirement. Further, his unauthenticated outburst was nothing more than the last cry of a bitter old man who felt abandoned and slighted by a PNP administration that was not there for him when he needed “them” the most. The worst thing that “they” could have done to Adams was to put him at a desk job, with nothing to do. He was humiliated and was left with no other option but to retire. To cap things off, his desire to become THE Police Commissioner was a non-starter, when one of the requirements for the post was a bachelors degree (something he didn’t possess and something he felt was design to exclude him from the pool of potential candidates).

Jay, I think you should change the headline of your thread. It should read “JLP has done a better job at crime fighting that the PNP”, since the guts of your thread focuses on just that aspect of the Observer article. The PNP comment was just a fraction of the article, but true to form, you zeroed in on the “JLP has done a better job at crime fighting that the PNP”, making it the centerpiece of the thread. Now, to dissuade comrades like myself from commenting and to maintain the your monopoly on pettiness (mediocrity), you say…”given the nature of our people to label anyone who dares to criticize the other party” đŸ˜€

I know you didn’t give much forethought to what you wrote, but I’m curious to hear what you have to say now that you have the time to ruminate on the issue some more.

    • As predictable as they come, I expect you would be the first to write exactly what you wrote ie the PNP used him and then discarded him so he is bitter and now anti -pnp.

Boy comrades are really screwed up, cannot stand to hear someone being critical of their party and in the face of truth the go on the attack.

    • Please go back and read your first paragraph Test, please do, especially sentence #2.

The police is free to devise and execute policies independent of which party is in power.

      KMT.

When did that occur and how do you reconcile that with the great influence politics has had in crime fighting.

I think you meant to say ” the police SHOULD be free to execute policies…….. etc etc.

I always knew comrade are disingenuous and you display this in any post you write in defense of the worst party to ever lead Jamaica and hence I clown (crown) you a distinguished and faithful comrade. lol lol

  2. Well in my opinion both the contents of Jay’s post as well as Test’s reply were highly predictable based on their biases. I literally predicted both once I saw the title of the post.
