One district constable was shot and killed and 4 others attached to the Spanish-town police station were taken into custody last night following a shoot-out with other cops.
Reports reaching commonsenseja are that the “rogue” cops who are attached to the Spanish Town Police station, went to Trelawny, where they robbed and kidnapped a lotto scammer.
The real cops were alerted and were quick on the scene and gave chase, during which a shootout ensued. The “cops” opened fire, which was returned by the cops and at the end of the gun fight, one “cop” was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Three other “cops” were taken into custody and are now the Spanish Town lock-up.
Indecom is now investigating this disturbing incident.

Something is not sitting well with me and hear me out.
Is it coincidental that the 3 vest stolen came from the Spanishtown Police Station ?
Were these ballistic vest ever reported stolen, if so when?
Was the police high command aware of the stolen vest ?
Why did the gunmen leave the stolen vest benind, is that not very unusual?
One can deduce what really happened from this series of events and as such the cops the Spanishtown Police stations MUST be investigated.
Which side was the DC on who got shot, I notice the reports have been circumventing the issue.
Is it not true the the DC who got shot was on the wrong side ?

Well my concern is from a different angle. How come the Trelawny police reacted so quickly to the reported kidnapping and robbery of a lottery scammer? The general story from citizens is that the police either do not respond or do so after lengthy periods. Certainly that has been my experience. Since it does not appear that the police were on the scene at the time of the robbery, how come they were able to respond so quickly to a scammer’s distress but fail to do so for regular citizens?
I would not be surprised to discover that those cops who responded are in the pay of the scammer.

I too would never look at it from that angle. My gut reaction is that the individual being labeled a “Scammer” is involved in much broader illegal activities and was set up to be robbed by people close to him. Why was he released unharmed after being abducted? Wouldn’t he be able to identify his abductors? I agree though, he seems to have protection from within the JCF and from the written reports, they did a massive search after the fact to rescue him and punish the robbers.

We need to hear more from the police on this matter.
Someone asked me ” Jay if you stole 3 bullet proof vest and was in a shoot out with cops, would you leave your source of protection ie the bulletproof vest behind, is that not very odd” ?
I said hell no I would definitely be keeping them on at the scene and probably discard them after I have made good my escape.
