$22M for CCTV in the BOG Walk Gorge .

Richard Azan today announced that over US$220K or J$22M will be spent to install a CCTV system as well as speakers in the Bog Walk George as part of an early warning system. To thunderous applause from his colleagues,  he gleefully announced that the system will be installed before the end of the year.

In the meantime the Minister of Transport and Works Dr Omar Davis is moving with haste to bypass the bogwalk gorge. Commonsense is therefore left to wonder if this is the best use of these funds at this time vs using the money to install CCTV system in the capital city to help crime fighters in the effort to deter and solve crimes.

Just saying.

  1. I was thinking the same thing. Does it make sense? I don’t see how it can.

  2. I often wonder what kind of though process goes into the decision making process of our politicians. I am also taken aback by the private sector who Richard has indicated are on board with this project.

I would have expected then to tell Richard to go ” fly a kite” and they would rather put their support in crime fighting effort using CCTV
