Visa revocation again on the table, no place to hide ?

We understand that issue of revocation of usa visa have quietly resumed.

We also understand this is to prevent certain targets for extradition (once the lotto scam legislation has been passed) from escaping.

We also have heard rumblings of no safe haven and the one place that some were considering turning to, may no longer be on the table , now that Chavez has died.

There are likely to be some interesting developments in the next few weeks.

Some are saying given all they have done, they are now being left in the cold and may be fed to the wolves.

How accurate that assertion is, we don’t know as yet.

  1. How would revoking a US visa prevent certain targets for extradition to the United States escape? It isn’t as if scammers who wanted to flee couldn’t escape by flying through some other country like Panama or Ecuador. And flying into the US is probably the last thing anyone would want to do if they are wanted for extradition to the United States……

    • Not the low level scammer Jon. The “big fish” is not the guys we see on the tv being rounded up.

Btw way most flights to countries like you mention, the gateway mostly are florida and new york.

Then you have CAL , which flies into Trinidad and Guyana from, which you can enter central America.

Those routes are noted but in Jamaica we know man and man will and can find a way but …

      • Jay, it doesn’t matter if it is the big fish or the low level people. The fact is that flying into the United States on a US visa is the last thing anyone would want to do if they are wanted for extradition to the United States. So revoking the visa seems pointless.

And the only countries I mentioned are Panama and Ecuador and we have direct flights to those countries (via Copa Airlines to Panama from Kingston and Montego Bay and to Ecuador via TAME from Montego Bay). You certainly do not need to go to florida or New York as a gateway and I would wager most flights to Panama and Ecuador from Jamaica are direct and not connecting flights through the States.

  2. I was going to ask a few questions but having read the last sentence “How accurate that assertion is, we don’t know as yet ” I will refrain. Here is an interesting one though .. “Business Man” held in money laundering probe http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20130317/lead/lead2.html

    • Maybe Jay will provide the name of the Businessman, given his links. Why can’t the Gleaner name this person? The only person that comes to mind is Dudus former business partner.

Whats even more troubling is that senior police officers are being implicated in leaking information to the criminals, leading to the death of 7 individuals (possible more). We need to know who these compromised police officers are ASAP before other innocent lives are lost. These police officers should be removed from duties pending the outcome of the investigation.

    • For me, Wignal has no credibility. I think sometimes he writes under the influence of this famous man and his nephew.

      • I agree. From the time he used to advocate purely for the “downtrodden” in their “struggle” against the police, I realized he couldn’t find a clue if it hit him the face. What really showed me how silly he was when he described one of his meetings with one of these people that he was trying to help only for said person to leer at his daughter in the car when the man approached the window of his car to speak to him. I found it rather disturbing that he didn’t have the common sense to realize that he was exposing his daughter to danger and that sometimes the police can actually tell the truth and that there are just some people out there who claim the police are all evil as a cover for their own evil activities.

    • As I said. This whole business about visa revocation makes no sense in terms of the people being targeted for extradition. It only makes sense to put pressure on people who can help with the extradition. Note in the article it says suspects are said to have fled to Brazil. How do you get to Brazil from Jamaica? Why through Panama (Copa Airlines) of course! No US visa needed.
