Senior cops killed, 3 days after stumbling on major guns for drugs trade ?

Retired SSP Boyd was  reportedly killed on Sunday in the Queensborough area of St Andrew just three days after stumbling on a major guns for drug trade on the Portmore Causeway. We have learnt that the trade had been shifting from Portland  & St Thomas  to this area of St Catherine.

The additional information we have received is also troubling and if true,  would suggest that we have a worse problem than any of us could have ever imagined.

Mr Commissioner, I suggest you personally address this one and dig deep sir, because we cannot allow this type of a situation to continue in this country.

It is one of the very reasons for the code of silence here in Jamaica.

  1. Are you sure of this version of the story? Let us assume he stumbled upon such activities, wouldn’t he passed on that information on to his former colleagues ASAP? If so, what would be the reason for killing him? Maybe he was involved with the whole thing from day one and just maybe, he wasn’t playing fair. They are active senior police officers already playing both sides of the field, so maybe, that is where the Commissioner needs to direct his attention (if he so choose).

    Answer : He did.

Question : If so, what would be the reason for killing him?

Possible Answer : They are active senior police officers already playing both sides of the field, so maybe, that is where the Commissioner needs to direct his attention (if he so choose).

I simply re-wrote what you had.

Also 100% positive he was never involved in any shady deals

    • Thanks Jay. As the saying goes, very few murders in Jamaica are random. It would indeed be a very sad day when the actions of a few bad apples lead to the demise of a fellow or former officer.

  3. The security forces require a big junk of our budget each year, yet we do not see the results of their crime fighting efforts are dismal. The same is true of our Educational System, where in excess of over 50-60% of the graduates of our secondary institutions leave these schools without a single CXC passes. It is time we start demand results from the two associated Ministries.

What I can’t fathom is why you can go into any community and the people can identify the dirty cops, yet the Commissioner of Police is clueless as to the identity of these rogue elements within the force. We heard that very Senior Police Officers were regularly seen cavorting with the enemies of the state (e.g., the X6 Killer), along with politicians. Not to mention officers participating in caravans/motorcades that escorts certain Narco-Traffickers. One has to conclude that our overall intelligence gathering capabilities are nonexistent.

    • Its not hurting Jamaicans enough yet for them to not demand but make changes to the way things work in Jamaica.

Corruptions pays and lots of money is to be made. Given the prevalence of corrupt acts, anyone who tries to combat it become a victim because you are easy to spot.

You the none corrupt stands out and becomes an easy target.

      Forget the justice system.

I have had reports of certain cops transporting criminals to a certain part of Jamaica to commit a crime and then transported back into their communities.

The community folks knows but if you keep quiet you get to live.

As I said we are not hurting enough yet for us to make the changes required.

    • Our problem is that of “trickle down criminality”. Corruption starts at the top and no effort is been made to address that. While the efficacy of “trickle down economics” is questionable, there is no doubt that “trickle down criminality” has had deleterious effects on our country.
