Finally despite the despair, today we had good news that makes one believe that all is not lost.
Fly Jamaica, which is majority owned by Jamaicans made its very first official flight today, from Kingston to JFK, New York.
As with any start up there were a few issues but all it all it all went well.
Very good indeed.
I hope this airline all the well and I ask Jamaicans to support this airline.
I do hope they will add more aircrafts in the years to come.
Great going Captain Lyn !

I remember our good friend RedP asking the question: What do you call a billionaire who purchases (starts) an airline? Answer: A millionaire!
I cannot fathom why an individual would invest their money in an Airline Business, especially with a startup with few routes and planes. In recent times, “taxes” are probably 50 -60% of the most recent publish fares to Jamaica. For every flight that becomes airborne with less than 90% – 100% load factor, is a money losing flight. There are very few profitable Airlines in existence today and you are better off investing your money in Cashplus or Olint.
Test give the business a chance no man. I guess I am not such a pessimist afterall. Lol
