What did KD Knight say about the PNP, Governance and the Poor

This is a clip, which I posted last December and how relevant it is today. Its amazing how honest and blunt KD Knight was , yet many Jamaicans fail to the see the truth for what it is.

Now there you have it, the PNP have once again demonstrated that KD Knight was absolutely right, its just a pity we are blinded by our political affiliation.

  1. The pressure is on and the PNP supporters are shame like ” a dwag”, that they have chosen to remain silent, hoping and praying that their dear Sister P will give them something to smile about tomorrow.
Jamaicans have now come to the realization, that they made a huge mistake in putting back the same bunch that wrecked the economy over a 18.5 yr period, but now its too late.

I heard someone said recent that had he known the pnp would turn on the poor people he would never had voted for them.

Really? I would wager a US$1 Billion, that if press for any tangible proof to support the above statement, that you will be unable to provide any. Therefore, it is said for propaganda purposes, with some expectation of adding some credence to your comments and lacks any foundation….right?

What I find puzzling is how “the poor” have suddenly become so popular, being used by some as a proxy to attack a very decent first attempt at a budget. Yet these same individuals, when approached on the streets by the poor, is quick to dismiss them as lazy and should go luk work!

You know when you have a good budget when everyone is unhappy.

  2. The budget is pathetic; the Private Sector Working Group gave the Govt. a researched tax reform package to work with, but they rejected it and presented this hodge-podge of crap.

My view is that a lowered rate of GCT applied across-the-board is a reasonable compromise. I know that even though the poor spends a greater portion of their income on food, more affluent persons consume more of pretty much everything, even if they are feeding some of what they purchase to their dogs.

In addition, when it comes to tax avoidance, GCT captures everyone who spends.

I am not impressed by the budget one bit. I personally cannot stand Audley Shaw, but I have to agree with his statement that “bold, game-changing decisions were needed”.

    • Mitch, I read the entire PSWG document and thought it was a very good document with the exception of reduction of corporate taxes from 33.3 to 25%.

Dr Phillips blew it in my opinion, with this package that he presented. Its widely believed however that changes will be made with PSM speaks tomorrow and Dr Phillips on Thursday.

  3. I think the GCT will be rolled back from books, mackerel, saltfish corned beef, local fruits and vegetables and most of the basic items. They probably will put it on gun license and some other things utilised by the perceived rich.

Sis P will have to be the saviour for the poor so she is coming to the rescue.
