JDIP AUDIT SET TO COST (WASTE) $16M !

While the government has coughed up the $16M required to complete the JDIP forensic audit, we are told there is no money allocated to complete the Finsac audit and final report.

I continue to be puzzled by the decisions made by our publicly elected officials on  spending our money and I am equally as worried by the people of Jamaica nonchalant approach to how these hard earned funds are wasted by both parties. We seem to have no issues when our party seeks to investigate the other party no matter the cost as long is will dig up dirt, but we take offense when the reverse is true.

Its our continued approach of seeing things not as black and white but as orange and green, that has gotten us to where we are  and has threaten to keep us where we are today.

How and when will be break this vicious cycle ?

  1. Government sources have described the executive summary of the report as tame, saying it does not appear the auditors have unearthed any major findings.

I did tell you so. I presented on this blog comprehensive details of the JDIP program in terms of every single project, stage of completion and cost and found nothing that suggested the HUGE SCANDAL that was said to be represented by JDIP.

When will we ever have a “reading” society , who can look at information and make a judgement instead of having wool pulled over their eyes by politicians.

  2. Now we are about to assemble a team to audit(review) the audit findings.
What a bunch of jokers !!

  3. Can someone please define “scandal” … Millions were borrowed on taxpayers behalf to carry out specific undertakings. Based on the RJR newscast millions were put to things other than was intended (cant remember the term used). Cost over – runs used to be a scandal for Audley Shaw how about now? Project to cost hundred plus million cost close to five hundred million… Transparancy in contractor selection … look here no man, let us STOP finding excuses for the damn foolishness like JDIP that sent miilions down the drain. The fact that so far there was no revelation of anyone tiefing money is of no comfort to taxpayers. The auditor general had a host of alarms on JDIP and the report will be sent to her and the OCG. I will read the full report and thank God I am one of the reading ones and no wool can be pulled over my eyes by anyone, politicians or not.

On the 16 million being a waste as per the headline… was FINSAC 65 million and counting a waste (and still no report and they want 20 million more)? Was Mannatt a waste?
